Many years ago I saw a video clip of NBA superstar Michael Jordan asking his very young son who his favorite basketball player was. His son answered, naming one of Jordan’s teammates. I found myself laughing out loud. Do our children see us as moms and dads and nothing more? Our sons have always been involved in music. They continue to include it as a natural, joyful part of their life. It was recently that I happened upon them “jamming” while our oldest was home visiting from college. “Why don’t you take that into the studio?” I asked. So, with a little (a lot) of prodding our two older boys came in to the studio and put down some tracks. They had fun, we had fun and it is an event we all will cherish forever…with the documentation in audio form to revisit often. Now we just need the third son to figure out that his parents own a recording studio!
